CS Sfaxian – the World’s Club Team of the Month for March 2013

No change in „top five“ on CWR March 2014!
The continental club competitions in Europe, Africa and the American double continent caused many considerable changes in the Club World Ranking, but not at the head. German Bayern FC keeps another higher number of points (383) and Real Madrid is the only one who gets more than 300 points. FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC and Club Atlético de Madrid still alive in UEFA Champion’s League are now followed by a great FC Basel who improves one place. Paris Saint-Germain FC returns to top-10. Meanwhile Clube Atlético Mineiro loses twelve places.
The jumps with more places in „top-100“ are for CSD Independiente del Valle (51 places), Club Cerro Porteño Asunción (40) and Club Santos Laguna (35). The best South American team is Club Atlético Nacional Medellín jumping 11 places from 19th to 8th. CA Lanús also get the top-10 with advancing 14 places.
The World’s Club Team of the Month for March is CS Sfaxian, Tunisia, with 39 points thanks to four win games in CAF Champion’s League, advance 31 places in the World Club Ranking and now is ahead Esperance Tunis. There were many clubs with more points than Tunisian team for March 2014, but they suffered one or more defeats and it means lose their options to be considerer as World’s Club Team of the Month.
The highest number of points was got by the Mexican Club Santos Laguna. They get 45,50 points but on March 1st FC Atlas Guadalajara won 3-2 for a national championship match. Also CA Lanús (44 points), CA Vélez Sársfield (42), Newell’s Old Boys /42) and Club Bolívar La Paz (40) get more points than CS Sfaxian. From Europe the three best clubs are Juventus FC Torino (38 points), FC Basel 1893 (36,50) and Club Atlético de Madrid (36).
In the “Top 100″ there are clubs from 37 countries: 64 clubs from the UEFA, 22 from the CONMEBOL, seven from the AFC, four from the CONCACAF, three from the CAF and none from the OFC. The following leagues are represented by the most clubs in the “Top 100″: Brazil (7), Italy (7), Spain (7), England (6), Argentina (5) Germany (5), Belgium (4), Mexico (4) and Ukraine (4).
