CRISTIANO RONALDO AND LUIS SUAREZ ARE THE WORLD’S BEST TOP DIVISION GOAL SCORER 2014
The IFFHS determines The World’s Best Top Division Goal Scorer annually from the 60 strongest leagues of the previous year.
The national championship must then be completed in the year of the rating. For the Latin American countries, which play Apertura and Clausura during a season, both tournaments are considered as a single championship. In 2014, 15 players from the 60 top leagues scored 20 or more goals in their national championship.
The World Ranking 2014 is headed by two great players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez (31 goals each), who are both the winners of the Award. It is the first time that the FIFA Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo has won this ranking after four second places and for Luis Suarez, it is the second time. He won this year with FC Liverpool and in 2010 with Ajax Amsterdam.
Alfred Finnbogason, with 29 goals, is in third place, just ahead of Diego Costa with the 2012 and 2013 winner, Lionel Messi, taking 5th place. Hamdi Harbaoui from Tunisia is the best African Top Goal Scorer with Lokeren in the Jupiler League . The scoring totals reveal that the record of the Paraguayan José Saturano Cardozo, who scored 58 goals in the Mexican Primera Division in the 2002/2003 season, continues to this day.
